The Cook Islands Customs service is the Government agency with the role of ensuring the security of our border. They protect the economy from illegal imports and exports, promote Cook Islands international trade, facilitate tourism, collect revenue, investigate illegal activities and prosecute where necessary.

After collecting your baggage, proceed to the exiting point where your passenger arrival card will be checked by an officer prior to passing through Customs and Cook Islands quarantine inspection service. There is an exemption on goods not for resale up to NZ$750 in value per passenger.

Don’t forget to declare any necessary items, there are severe penalties for failing to declare items prohibited, restricted or for which you are required to pay duty/sales tax.

Arrivals Duty-Free Allowance

Alcohol – 2 Litres of wine or spirits or 4.5 Litres of beer

Tobacco – 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco
